ASRM Center for Policy and Leadership Publishes New Research Analyzing the Trump Administration’s IVF Initiative
December 1, 2025
For immediate release
The report provides:
- Detailed analysis of the initiative’s components, including drug pricing agreements and employer benefit structures under “excepted benefits.”
- Unresolved questions and regulatory considerations, highlighting the need for clarity on implementation timelines, consumer protections, and equity outcomes.
- Policy recommendations to ensure access, affordability, and inclusivity in fertility care.
“We created this resource in response to questions from key stakeholders and the public about what exactly the IVF initiative means for patients and employers,” said CPL Director Becca O’Connor. “While we’re pleased that the Administration is encouraging expanded access to fertility care, we saw a need for the CPL to provide guidance on implementation, evaluation, and overcoming structural barriers that continue to limit meaningful access. There is still plenty of work to be done at the federal level in the fight to make IVF accessible for all.”
