Washington, DC– The ASRM Research Institute, a new research arm of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, announced today that Thomas S. Kosasa, MD of Honolulu, HI, a Life Member of the ASRM, was making a million-dollar gift to the new institute.
The ASRM Research Institute was created in 2018 with a $10 million corpus from the ASRM. The institute is committed to funding much needed work in human reproduction, a field which has historically struggled to attract government and major philanthropic support.
The gift was announced at the ASRM’s 75th Anniversary Gala by ASRM CEO Richard Reindollar, MD. The gala raised an additional $250,000 for research.
Dr. Reindollar said, “We are gratified that Dr. Kosasa has seen fit to bestow such a generous gift on the Research Institute. As we move this vital project forward, not only are the funds important, but an endorsement from a major philanthropist like Dr. Kosasa is extremely valuable.”
The gift will be used to create The Thomas S. Kosasa Fund for Excellence in Reproductive Research.
