ASRM Applauds Kansas Election Results

The following statement was issued by ASRM:

August 3, 2022

Washington, DC - The American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) today applauds the voters of Kansas and celebrates the resounding win for reproductive rights upon the rejection of a constitutional amendment which would have removed the right to reproductive freedom from the state’s constitution.

“This was the first chance voters had to express themselves since the Dobbs decision and express themselves they did,” stated Sean Tipton, ASRM’s Chief Policy and Advocacy Officer. “This result should send shivers down the spine of every politician who wants to put themselves between the American voter and their right to make their own reproductive decisions.”

ASRM, using funds generated through its new Reproductive Care Protection Fund, ran advertisements opposing the amendment. Kentucky voters will be facing a similar ballot measure in November and ASRM intends to be involved in that effort as well.

The ASRM Bulletin is published by ASRM's Office of Public Affairs to inform Society members of important recent developments. Republication or any other use of the contents of the Bulletin without permission is prohibited.
