ASRM Today - News and Publications: Interview with Richard Paulson on Publication of the First Issue of F&S Reports

Dr. Richard Paulson
"So the question is, why do we need to dilute the submissions by sending some of them to another journal? But in reality over the past few years the acceptance rate at Fertility and Sterility has dropped so much that there's really lots and lots of very good science that has to go elsewhere."
- Richard J. Paulson, M.D., M.S.

It has been seventy years since the publication of the first issue of the medical journal Fertility and Sterility and the publishing landscape continues to evolve towards more open access journals. Our guest on the show today is Dr. Rick Paulson, and we sat down to talk about the new open access journal F&S Reports.

Dr. Richard Paulson is Director of USC Fertility, and has been with the practice since 1986. He also is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Chief of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine.

F&S Reports, part of the Fertility and Sterility family of journals, is an open access journal that publishes peer-reviewed, original scientific articles in clinical and translational research in areas relevant to reproductive medicine, including, but not limited to, male and female reproductive endocrinology, gynecology, urology, developmental biology, physiology, genetics, contraception and family planning, menopausal medicine, and reproductive epidemiology, that have strong potential to transform clinical practice.
