Doctors for Fertility Donates $100,000 to the ASRM Center for Policy and Leadership

For immediate release

Washington, DC – Doctors for Fertility (DFF), a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of reproductive rights and fertility care, has announced a gift of $100,000 to support the ASRM Center for Policy and Leadership (CPL) through the Doctors for Fertility Advocacy Training Fund.

“DFF is proud to support ASRM’s Center for Policy and Leadership in their quest to shape reproductive and fertility policy and train professionals in the field to do the same,” said DFF President Dr. Natalie Crawford. “We are confident our donation will go far in training the reproductive leaders of tomorrow.”

The CPL, launched in 2020, is a nonpartisan think tank dedicated to the advancement of reproductive medicine through the delivery of evidence-based information to lawmakers and the public. It is home to the PRIMED (Preparing Experts in Reproductive Medicine to Engage Decisionmakers) program, which trains an annual cohort of professionals from across the field in political advocacy at the federal and state levels. Funds provided by the DFF will expand the CPL’s capacity to train professionals to affect relevant policy.

“We are incredibly grateful to our peers at DFF for their generous donation,” said Becca O’Connor, J.D., Director of the CPL. “Support from groups like theirs is essential to advancing the shared goal of preparing experts to advocate for and influence the future of reproductive medicine.”

Reproductive Rights and You

The U.S. Supreme Court’s opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization (597 U.S. __, 2022), overturned the nearly 50-year precedent set by Roe v. Wade (410 U.S. 113, 1973), which had recognized a constitutional right to abortion. The Dobbs decision has sparked a litany of changes in state laws across the nation, and more are expected.
