ASRM Releases Congressional Scorecard
October 16, 2024
For immediate release
“While we do not endorse in candidate races, we have gotten many requests from our members as they are working to make their own decisions about Congressional elections. Given the high level of salience for reproductive issues in this Congress, we felt it was important to respond to that need,” said Sean Tipton, ASRM’s Chief Advocacy and Policy Officer. Tipton added, “It is our hope that this guide not only provides important information to our members but further spurs their engagement in this year’s historic elections, now only weeks away.”
The scorecard is designed to be clear and easy to follow. Each state’s congressional delegation is listed alphabetically and their stands on bills and resolutions important to ASRM are shown, with indications as to whether the member of Congress shared or opposed ASRM’s position. Some legislation ASRM has not taken an official position on, but which may be relevant to some ASRM members, is also listed.
The Congressional scorecard is available on the ASRM website here
